Dying Light: The Beast moved its release forward to September 18, 2025, after Techland said more than one million players had secured a copy before launch. The publisher announced the change on September 12; its launch post confirms the game arrived on the new date.

Why did Dying Light: The Beast release early?

Techland said the change was prompted by strong pre-launch demand. In its September 12, 2025 announcement, the publisher wrote: “Since more than 1 million players have already secured their copy of Dying Light: The Beast ahead of launch, we’re moving the release forward to SEPTEMBER 18!” Techland’s announcement does not explain how it counted players or provide an independent audit of the milestone, so the figure is best understood as Techland’s reported pre-launch total.

“Early” means the release date was brought forward to September 18, 2025. Techland’s launch post confirms the game was out that day.

How many pre-orders did Dying Light: The Beast get?

Techland reported that more than one million players had secured a copy before launch. The announcement does not give a more detailed breakdown or accounting method, so it does not establish a separately verified number of paid pre-orders.

What is Dying Light: The Beast?

Techland’s launch description follows Kyle Crane in Castor Woods, where he pursues revenge. The publisher highlights first-person parkour, 4×4 vehicles, physical combat and danger at night. Those are the studio’s descriptions of the game, rather than an independent assessment.

Is the 2026 PS5 physical edition announcement related?

No. Techland announced physical PS5 editions with Super Rare Games in September 2026, separate from the 2025 release-date change. The publisher says the editions include the Definitive Edition and post-launch updates. It lists three versions:

Edition What Techland says is included Availability
Standard retail Game and manual Unlimited pre-order quantity during the stated window
Super Rare Games limited edition Manual, sticker, metallic slipcover and numbered release Limited quantities
Anniversary Edition Physical items inspired by Castor Woods Limited quantities

The announcement set the pre-order period at September 18 through October 16, 2026. Techland says physical delivery is unavailable in some regions, while digital editions remain globally available. It does not establish post-window availability, pricing or retailer stock. See Techland’s physical-edition announcement for the publisher’s details.
