Yes. Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 supports cross-play with Xbox consoles and PC. Playground Games’ official announcement states that cross-play is available for all players across Xbox consoles, PC and PS5. In this context, “cross-play” means playing together across platforms. It does not by itself mean that saves or progress carry over between them, and the sections below explain what the official information does and does not cover.
What the official announcement says
On January 30, 2025, Playground Games published “Forza Horizon 5 Comes to PlayStation 5 in Spring 2025.” The post states: “cross-play will be available for all Forza Horizon 5 players across Xbox consoles, PC and PS5.” That statement is the basis for the answer above, and it is the clearest official confirmation that PS5 players can join others on the other supported platforms.

Which platforms are included
Cross-play is organized by platform family, not by a separate cross-play edition. Players use the version that matches their device, and the official statement names three families.

What cross-play covers in practice
Forza’s official starting guide says players can convoy with friends from every platform. It also names multiplayer activities, including Hide & Seek and The Eliminator. Those activities are the clearest examples of what playing across platforms looks like in the game.

What cross-play does not establish
Three questions are often confused with cross-play. The official information does not answer them, so they should be treated separately.
- Cross-save and progression: the announcement does not say whether PS5 saves or progress transfer to Xbox or PC. Do not assume they do.
- Account linking: no official source excerpt confirms whether a specific account link or settings change is required on PS5 for cross-play. Avoid stating that linking is mandatory, or that it is unnecessary, until you have checked current PlayStation and Forza support instructions.
- PC storefronts and device variants: the statement says PC but does not enumerate them, so the official wording cannot be used to confirm a particular PC storefront or setup.
PS5 release timeline
Premium Edition early access began on April 25, 2025, and general access to the PS5 version began on April 29, 2025. Playground Games’ PS5 launch announcement says the game was available through the PlayStation Store. The PS5 version has therefore been out for more than a year as of this article’s date, so the cross-play status described here reflects the released game. Later updates could change platform support, so the official Forza Horizon 5 channels are the place to check for changes.

How to confirm the setup before you play
- Check Playground Games’ announcements and the official Forza Horizon 5 pages for the current platform statement.
- Check PlayStation’s own support pages for current PS5 online play and account requirements, since the Forza sources reviewed here do not describe them.
- Start a convoy or a multiplayer activity with a friend on another platform. If it works, cross-play is active for your setup. If it does not, compare your platform and account settings against the official instructions.
