Found Quests in Fortnite are season-specific hidden tasks, not one permanent quest chain with fixed locations or rewards. First check the season or event shown in your game, then look in the current Quests tab and on the live map for the active objective. Historical guides describe two different systems: selected NPC dialogue started Found Quests in some seasons, while special chest-drop items started Lost and Found tasks in another. The locations and examples below are dated; they are not confirmed active on October 8, 2026.
What are Found Quests in Fortnite?
“Found Quests” has been used for hidden tasks whose trigger and objectives depend on the season. In Chapter 6 Season 4, certain NPCs offered quests through dialogue. In Chapter 7 Season 3, “Lost and Found” tasks began when players interacted with special items that could drop from chests. These labels and mechanics have varied, so do not assume an old walkthrough applies to the season you are playing.

The guides cited here are third-party walkthroughs, not official Epic documentation. They describe past seasons; the available material does not establish the active quest list on October 8, 2026. Treat the in-game quest tab and current map as authoritative for what you can do now.
How to tell which quest system is active
- Check the season or event name in Fortnite. Match it to the season named in any guide you use.
- Open the Quests tab. Look for an active Found or Lost and Found objective and read its trigger, timer, and completion conditions.
- Check the live map or approach the named character. NPC locations change between seasons; do not navigate to a location from an older guide unless your current map confirms it.
- Follow the objective shown in your game. A quest may ask you to collect, travel, equip an item, deal damage, or return to an NPC. Do not assume the examples below match a current quest.
Historical examples: how the mechanics changed
| Season and source | Trigger and task | Timing or availability | Reported reward or goal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chapter 6 Season 3; Beebom, May 17, 2025 | Speak to Luke Skywalker at a northwest Rebel Outpost, choose Training, pass through ten green rings as they appear, then return to Luke. | Season-specific; current availability is not established. | Beebom reported 30,000 XP and a Legendary DL-44 Blaster Pistol. |
| Chapter 6 Season 4 Fortnitemares; Prima Games, October 15, 2025 | Talk to selected NPCs with a diamond exclamation interaction. Tasks involved retrieving luggage and confronting Mothman, collecting five Mystery Machine pieces, finding a magnifying glass, or collecting three burger ingredients. | Event-specific; current availability is not established. | Reward not stated in the cited walkthrough. |
| Simpsons season; GameSpot, November 19, 2025 | Lost and Found quests could come from occasional chest drops or from Homer, Marge, Lisa, and Bart. Examples included collecting items, driving, finding Lisa’s textbooks, and damaging opponents or objects. | GameSpot described weekly rotation of story quest sets; current availability is not established. | Reward not stated in the cited coverage. |
| Chapter 7 Season 3; Destructoid, June 11, 2026 | Interact with a special item that could randomly drop from a chest to start a timed task. Examples included equipping a specified weapon before dealing damage, or equipping a Sprite and traveling a distance. | Destructoid listed the season’s Lost and Found tasks as available June 6–August 19, 2026; that period had ended by October 8, 2026. | The guide described an overarching objective to complete ten tasks. |
NPC-triggered Found Quests: the Fortnitemares example
Prima Games’ October 15, 2025 walkthrough for Chapter 6 Season 4 Fortnitemares said that only certain island NPCs offered Found Quests, identified by a diamond exclamation interaction. It named these characters and locations for that event:
#1 Best Overall
- Darkfire Bundle: Including 3 outfits (with LEGO Styles) and back blings; Dark Power Chord, Dark Six String, Molten Omen, Molten Battle Shroud, Shadow Ark, Shadow Ark Wings, plus 3 wraps, 3 dual-wielding pickaxes, and an emote!
- Deep Freeze Bundle: Cool off with the Deep Freeze set and 1,000 V-Bucks. Includes the frostbite outfit (with LEGO Style), freezing point back bling, chill-axe pickaxe, and cold front glider.
- The Fortnite – Darkfire & Ice Bundle includes 10+ cosmetics and 1,000 V-Bucks!
- Daphne: Viney Shafts; locate her missing luggage and confront Mothman.
- Fred: beside the Mystery Machine east of Ranger’s Ruin; collect five pieces for the vehicle.
- Velma: in a cabin south of Harmony Hills; find her magnifying glass.
- Shaggy: at a gas station west of Bugswatter Beach; collect three burger ingredients.
The guide also described a weekly objective to find, accept, and navigate through two Found Quests, and recommended Velma and Shaggy as easier choices in that season. These characters, locations, objectives, and completion advice belong to that Fortnitemares event; they should not be treated as current map directions.
Luke Skywalker’s Training quest: the Chapter 6 Season 3 example
Beebom’s May 17, 2025 guide described a route-based quest at a northwest Rebel Outpost. The sequence was to speak with Luke, select Training, pass through ten green rings as each next ring appeared, and return to Luke. Beebom reported a reward of 30,000 XP and a Legendary DL-44 Blaster Pistol. It recommended attempting the course on foot in Zero Build because some rings were near cliffs and zip lines. Those are reported details for Chapter 6 Season 3, not a guarantee that the character, task, or reward remains available.

Chest-triggered Lost and Found: the Chapter 7 Season 3 example
Destructoid’s June 11, 2026 guide described a different trigger from the NPC quests: a special item could randomly appear when opening a chest, and interacting with it started a timed task. Its examples involved equipping a specified weapon and dealing damage, or equipping a Sprite and traveling a required distance before time ran out. Because the starter item was random, the guide suggested opening more chests if one did not appear. It described ten tasks as the broader objective. Its stated availability window—June 6 through August 19, 2026—has passed.

Found Quest mechanics, NPCs, objectives, loot, and availability have changed across seasons. A location from Chapter 6 Season 4 or a reward from Chapter 6 Season 3 cannot establish what is live in Chapter 7 or a later season. The same warning applies to Lost and Found: a chest-drop trigger reported for one season does not mean every later quest uses it. Verify the objective and availability in your current game before following a historical guide.
